The Secret Invasion is on its way. As work on Marvel’s upcoming Secret Invasion miniseries continues, according to one report, filming on Marvel’s Secret Invasion is nearly completed.
Even though Marvel Studios has yet to announce how far Secret Invasion filming has progressed, one industry insider believes that stage of the show’s development is nearing completion. Insider Charles Murphy tweeted, “Secret Invasion is almost done filming.” Though Murphy didn’t provide any other information, if his claim is correct, it appears that Secret Invasion will be able to achieve its scheduled release date later this year.
Under the working title “Jambalaya,” Secret Invasion is presently filming in Halifax, England, with Marvel Studios getting used to the town’s Piece Hall between January 24 and 31. While the working title is supposed to be a mystery, fans were able to learn a little more about the show when behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the set were posted online. Signs for the real-life celebration “National Unity Day” written in Russian were observed on set, indicating that at least one scene will take place in Russia.
Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, said that he began filming on the series in October of last year. While uploading a post on Instagram with the caption, he said that “Time to get back in the groove. Happy to be back on the attack! #secretinvasion“. In addition to Jackson, Marvel just announced that Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill, Fury’s confidante and former Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Hill’s presence in the miniseries will be her first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in some years since the character was last seen in 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Although few information about Secret Invasion is currently available, fans were able to guess about the look of a mysterious aliens species when the series’ official image was revealed late last year. Though Marvel has previously announced that the series will follow the Skrulls’ invasion of Earth, the use of a green and purple color scheme in the logo has some fans wondering if the Phalanx, a mostly unknown villain from the X-Men comics, will make an appearance.
However the six-episode Secret Invasion miniseries has yet to be given a release date, but it will launch on Disney+ later this year.
