Eternals 2 Release Date, Star Cast, Budget, Makers & More Updates Here

Based on the Marvel comics race of the same name and directed by filmmaker Chloe Zhao, the American superhero film Eternals is expected to be back with its sequel, most probably titled Eternals 2, soon.

Eternals was released on November 5, 2021, as part of the MCU’s Phase Four, and received mixed reviews from critics, with all praise going to the film’s theme. However, its runtime, screenplay, pacing, and character development faced a lot of criticism.

It was the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was bankrolled by Marvel Studios. Made on a budget of $200 million, the film grossed $402 million worldwide.

WILL ETERNALS 2 HAPPEN?

As per media sources, the sequel to Eternals will definitely happen, and Zhao will be back as the director of the film. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Marvel Studio or Disney, the first movie itself set up a sequel due to its cliffhanger editing.

ABOUT THE FILM

The film follows up a group of immortal super-powered beings called The Eternals, who have been placed on Earth supposedly to defeat some evil monsters known as The Deviants.

ETERNALS 2 STAR CAST

If there’s going to be a sequel of the film, certainly the majority of the stars will return to reprise their roles from the first film. The actors who are more likely to return to their characters in Eternals 2 are:

  • Gemma Chan as Sersi
  • Kumail Nanijiani as Kingo
  • Lia McHugh as Sprite
  • Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos
  • Lauren Ridloff as Makkari
  • Barry Keoghan as Druig
  • Angelina Jolie, a Hollywood actress, plays Theni, an elite Eternal warrior.
  • Kit Harington as Dane Whiteman

Since Salma Hayek’s Ajak, Richard Madden’s Ikaris, and Deon Lee’s Gilgamesh were killed in the first movie, they may not be returning, at least in their characters. Patton Oswalt is likely to return, and along with him, the sequel may feature pop star Harry Styles, who appeared in a cameo role in the first film.
