In 2019, Amazon Prime Video put out a series called “Good Omens.” It’s based on a book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett called “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.” The story is about two pals, an angel named Aziraphale (played by Michael Sheen) and a demon named Crowley (played by David Tennant). They enjoy their time on Earth and actively work to prevent Armageddon, the final battle between heaven and hell, from destroying the world.

In mid-2020, Neil Gaiman released a mini-episode called Good Omens: Lockdown. Initially, the show was promoted as a limited series. However, in 2021, Amazon surprised fans by renewing Good Omens for another season, with Neil Gaiman returning as one of the co-showrunners.

Is season 2 happening?

Fans of the popular supernatural series have been eagerly waiting for season 2 since Prime Video announced its renewal in June 2021. Show creator Neil Gaiman recently provided an update on the new season’s progress, revealing that filming was completed in March 2022. The team has been working diligently on post-production, and it looks like their efforts are paying off. The trailer for the upcoming season is expected to be released soon, and the show is set to premiere in the Summer. Excitement is building as everything comes together for the highly anticipated return of Good Omens.

What to Expect From Season 2

Good Omens is an exciting series that revolves around two supernatural beings, Aziraphale (the angel) and Crowley (the demon), who team up to stop the apocalypse. The antichrist, a baby, poses a threat to the world’s balance, but Aziraphale and Crowley are unaware that the real child has been switched at birth. As ancient prophecies start coming true and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse draw near, both Heaven and Hell prepare for a final showdown. The fate of the world hangs in the balance as the thrilling story unfolds.

Who is in the Season 2 Cast?

Following the immense success of the first season, Michael Sheen and David Tennant are all set to return as Aziraphale and Crowley in the highly anticipated second season of Good Omens. Alongside them, several other actors from the first season are also coming back, including Jon Hamm as the archangel Gabriel, Derek Jacobi as the separate voice of God called Metatron, Niamh Walsh as a Nazi agent named Greta Kleinschmidt from 1941, Mark Gatiss as a bookseller named Mr. Harmony from 1941, Steve Pemberton as another bookseller named Mr. Glozier from 1941, Reece Shearsmith as the renowned English playwright William Shakespeare, Doon Mackichan as the archangel Michael, and Gloria Obianyo as the archangel Uriel. Fans can’t wait to see this talented ensemble bring their characters back to life for the upcoming season.

Season 2 also introduces several new characters into the fold, some of which are played by actors from the first season.

In the highly anticipated Season 2 of Good Omens, Quelin Sepulveda takes on the role of Muriel, a well-meaning angel described by the actress as “gullible and curious.” Muriel has spent the last 6,000 years stuck in a dull office job and is eager to break free from it. In a clip shown at NYCC (New York Comic Con), Muriel arrives on Earth and encounters Aziraphale and Crowley. She confesses to Aziraphale that she’s taken on a human form, but Crowley remains suspicious of her presence.

In Season 2 of Good Omens, Maggie Service takes on the role of Maggie, who owns a record store located right next to Aziraphale’s bookshop in Soho. In the first season, Service portrayed the character Sister Theresa Garrulous, a satanic nun. She has also appeared in various other television shows, including Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, and Quiz. Additionally, she had a role in the 2015 film London Road, which featured Olivia Colman, Anita Dobson, and Tom Hardy.

Nina Sosanya takes on the role of Nina, who owns a coffee shop with the motto “Give me coffee or give me death.” Her coffee shop is situated across from Maggie’s record store. Nina is known for her ability to handle the lively Soho crowd. In the first season, Sosanya played the character Sister Mary Loquacious, a satanic nun who later reinvented herself as Mary Lodges. Fans are eager to see how Sosanya brings this new character to life in the upcoming season of the show.

In Season 2 of Good Omens, Miranda Richardson portrays Shax, a new demon who assumes Crowley’s position in Hell after he is fired. Not many details about her character have been revealed yet, but a promotional image hints at her formidable and intimidating nature. Richardson previously played the human Medium Madame Tracy in Season 1 of the show.

Shelley Conn plays the new Beelzebub, leader of the forces of hell. She’s different from the Beelzebub seen in Season 1, and her character goes by another name. The reason for this change has not been revealed yet, but hopefully, it will be explained in the upcoming episodes.

In Good Omens Season 2, Liz Carr joins the cast as a new angel named Saraqael. The season also introduces other new actors, including Siân Phillips, Tim Downie, Pete Firman, Andi Osho, and Alex Norton.

When Will Good Omens Season 2 Be Released?
