The poster for Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts sees series leads Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint sitting front. Set to debut on HBO Max on New Year’s Day, Return to Hogwarts celebrates the 20th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (originally titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone), which first hit theaters in the United Kingdom on Nov. 10, 2001, and in the United States on Nov. 16, 2001. The special promises to “tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time”. An official trailer for return to Hogwarts was released earlier this month.
Written by Rowling, the original novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was first published in 1997. Also, Rowling would go on to author six sequels through 2007, with Warner Bros. Pictures adapting the seven total Harry Potter books into eight feature films from 2001 to 2011. And also, you know that in 2016, Warner Bros. released Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It was the first in a planned pentalogy of Harry Potter spinoff/prequel films. The reveal of Return to Hogwarts‘ official poster comes mere days after the Fantastic Beasts series’ third film, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, dropped Its first official trailer. That film is due to hit theaters on April 15, 2022.
