What is Bioshock about?
The story of the original 2007 Bioshock game is set in 1960, and follows Jack who discovers the underwater city known as Rapture. The city was built by business magnate Andrew Ryan to be an isolated utopia. However, the discovery of ADAM, a genetic material which grants superhuman powers, initiated the Rapture’s turbulent decline.
Jack tries to escape Rapture, fighting ADAM-obsessed enemies and Big Daddies, while interacting with the few sane humans that remain and learning of the city’s past. Without going to major plot twists, Jack is able to fight enemies using weapons, utilizing plasmids that grant unique powers, and by the turning the city’s defenses against them.
