M3GAN 2: No need to worry— as we previously mentioned, M3GAN 2.0 was bound to happen, and Universal has now scheduled its release for January 17, 2025. This sequel to the successful Blumhouse and Atomic Monster film, currently in its second week, has already earned $92 million globally on a $12 million budget.
M3GAN debuted with a strong opening of $30.4 million and experienced a favorable second weekend drop of -40%. The movie has now reached a domestic gross of $61.6 million.
M3GAN 2: The sequel to M3GAN, produced in association with Divide/Conquer, is currently in development. The script for the sequel is being written by Akela Cooper, who also wrote the script for the original film. Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are set to return, with Williams also taking on a producer role, building on her executive producer role for the first film.
Producers for the sequel M3GAN 2.0 include Jason Blum, James Wan, and Allison Williams. Michael Clear and Judson Scott from James Wan’s Atomic Monster banner will serve as executive producers, along with Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek and Mark Katchur. Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath from Divide/Conquer are also executive producers. Notably, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse have been in final talks to merge.
