Plot

“Ms. Marvel” is a groundbreaking superhero project as it features a Muslim hero, specifically focusing on the character Kamala Khan. Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, is a relatively new Marvel superhero who made her first appearance in 2014. In the comics, Kamala Khan is a Pakistani American teenager living in Jersey City who idolizes superheroes like Captain Marvel. These characteristics are expected to be portrayed in the “Ms. Marvel” TV show.

The name “Ms. Marvel” originally belonged to Carol Danvers when she debuted in 1976, but she later adopted the identity of Captain Marvel in 2012. Kamala Khan, a new teenage character, took on the Ms. Marvel name. She is a Pakistani American from Jersey City, New Jersey, who possesses shapeshifting abilities inherited from her latent Inhuman DNA.

Who is Ms. Marvel and what are her powers?

In the comics, Kamala Khan becomes Ms. Marvel after her latent powers are awakened by a mysterious mist. These powers allow her to alter her size and shape. It is unknown whether the TV series will follow the same origin story for Kamala’s powers. However, based on the trailer, it appears that special bracelets play a role in unlocking her abilities. The trailer hints at some of her powers, including telekinetic abilities and the ability to create a large cosmic energy-like fist.

In the comics, Ms. Marvel has a strong bond with her family, and her powers are connected to her grandmother through the bracelets she wears. This family connection becomes a significant source of conflict for Kamala as she navigates the challenges of being a high school student, a dutiful daughter, and a superhero. Balancing these different roles and responsibilities becomes a central struggle for her character.
