We knew we had to approach it with care and find the perfect collaborator, and fortunately, See-Saw stood out among the rest.

The Neverending Story Remake: Story Details
While specific details about the adaptation are scarce, it’s highly probable that the fundamental elements of the story will remain intact. The Neverending Story follows Bastian as he escapes into the fantastical world of a book, where he embarks on a quest to save the land of Fantasia from the encroaching evil known as ‘The Nothing’. With the Empress ailing, a young warrior named Atreyu is tasked with a journey to heal her. Along the way, Atreyu encounters classic fantasy elements such as enemies, mystical mentors, and magical creatures. However, the narrative takes a meta turn as it’s revealed that Bastian isn’t just reading the story but is also a part of it, and others are reading his story as well. Ultimately, Bastian’s belief in the power of imagination becomes key to saving Fantasia and potentially even bringing elements of it into the real world, like Falkor.
While it’s expected that certain aspects of the story will undergo changes, some elements are essential to preserve. Falkor, the mystical Luck Dragon, is an iconic figure in this world and should undoubtedly make a return in the remake. Likewise, it’s hard to envision The Neverending Story without the emotional impact of the Swamp of Sadness and the loss experienced by Atreyu there. However, the beauty of The Neverending Story lies in its celebration of storytelling and imagination, which means the potential for creative exploration is limitless.
