What is about Warrior Nun

Warrior Nun is based on the Warrior Nun Areala comic series that first debuted in 1994 and was created by Ben Dunn. The story follows Ava Silva, a woman that starts the series dead, though is resurrected by the use of a magical and holy artifact that is embedded into her back. With this Halo of the Angel Adriel now bonded to her, which grants her supernatural abilities, she becomes part of the Order of the Cruciform Sword, an ancient sect of devout women sworn to battle demons. With the reveal about Adriel that we saw in the series’ first season, viewers are excited to see how Ava will tackle her position as a leader as she continues to hone her skills and powers.

The Trailer

A teaser for the series was released on Netflix’s Geeked Week 2022 event.

The teaser recapped the major plot events in the first season, like when Ava was brought back from the dead and was initiated as a Warrior Nun. We also see glimpses of all the action that could happen in the second season now that Ava has a better grip on her powers and a clearer view of the enemy. You can watch the teaser video for Warrior Nun season two here:

The action-packed trailer catches us back up with Ava, played by Alba Baptista, after the massive cliffhanger at the end of Season 1. Ava’s now preparing The Order of the Cruciform Sword for the pending war against Adriel. The demon’s influence has been growing since the last time we saw him. Throughout the trailer, there are many compelling scenes of the characters drawing lines in the sand, with Ava tensely meeting back up with Father Vincent after he betrayed her last season. At the same time, Cardinal Duretti appears to be corrupted by Adriel. You can watch the trailer for Warrior Nun season 2 here:

Warrior Nun Season 2 Plot

By the end of season one, we learn that Adriel is not really an angel after he touches Ava and she learns his true identity. The first knights of the order mistook him for an angel after he killed the Tarask monster that followed him out of the demonic portal.

Adriel created the Order of the Cruciform Sword and hid it in the tombs of the Vatican. He used the Order to be protected from heaven and hid the Halo inside the original Warrior Nun.

Shotgun Mary succumbed to Adriel’s possessed forces, leaving Ava and the other sisters to defeat evil forces.

Season 2 may start with Ava going after Adriel and his army, hopefully being able to defeat the demon now that she has embraced her powers.

The synopsis for this season is as follows, “Ava and the Sister-Warriors of the OCS must find a way to defeat the angel, Adriel, as he attempts to build his following into the dominant religion on the planet.” However, the main thing this footage introduces is a new weapon in Ava’s arsenal that is the key to stopping him. A mystical halo-looking disc that we see Ava taking from a statue is what defeated Adriel the first time around. Fingers crossed it’s exactly what the OCS needs to win again. The trailer also introduces a new group called The Samaritans, whose goal is to expose the church for who they really are. It’s too soon to tell if they’re going to be an outright ally to the OCS, but at least at the start of the season, Ava will be teaming up with them.
