Aquaman 2 CinemaCon Footage Reveals Major Plot Details

According to the information revealed at CinemaCon so far, Aquaman 2 will show Arthur Curry and Orm, also known as Ocean Master, joining forces in a reluctant alliance. The character of Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, will make a comeback with a strong desire for revenge. This time, his plan involves invading Atlantis, the underwater nation, and completely destroying it. The sequel will explore a variety of new locations, expanding beyond those seen in the first movie. Additionally, audiences can also expect the introduction of numerous new characters in Aquaman 2.

Fantacytube can exclusively report that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will bring in a new character who is the son of Arthur Curry and Mera. The Heir to Aquaman’s Throne?

In all honesty, it’s uncertain whether Arthur Curry Jr. in Aquaman 2 will exactly resemble his comic book counterpart. The DCEU, especially after Zack Snyder’s departure, has struggled to adhere strictly to comic book accuracy. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if there is a time jump or some changes in the portrayal. The upcoming DCEU movie might present us with a teenage version of Arthur Curry Jr. instead.

The time skip in the story of Aquaman 2 allows Black Manta to become stronger and assemble an army. It is likely that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s character embarked on a journey to search for a way to defeat his main foe, Arthur Curry.

There is a scene in an old DC comic book from the ’70s, Black Manta violently chokes Arthur Curry Jr. to death. It is uncertain whether James Wan’s new movie will show such a brutal scene in live-action.

Is Arthur Curry Jr. The Lead Star Of The Aqualad Series?

There have been rumors about DC developing a TV series about Aqualad for HBO Max. This is one reason why introducing Arthur Curry Jr. in Aquaman 2 makes sense for the DCEU. This new character could have various ways of influencing the future of the DCEU. Reports suggest that the Aqualad series will focus on Jackson Hyde as the main character.

Despite the focus on Aqualad in the rumored HBO Max series, it doesn’t mean that Aquaman 2 won’t include other teenage Atlantean characters. The details of how everything will unfold are yet to be seen. However, it is confirmed that Mera and Arthur Curry will have a child, and the introduction of Arthur Curry Jr. into the DCEU has been confirmed.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in theaters on March 17th, 2023.
