A new trailer also chronicles the series finale, which teases where the show’s finale chapter is headed for Momoa’s Baba Voss, who defeated his nemesis brother Edo before leaving his family to live in the forest amid a post-apocalyptic landscape where people have lost the sense of sight. When a Trivantian scientist develops a new form of vision-based weaponry that threatens the future of humanity, Baba returns to Paya to help protect his people one last time.

‘See’ Season 3 Release Date and Episodes

Apple TV Plus announced that See will make its global debut on Friday, August 26, 2022. Apple renewed See for a third season ahead of the premiere of season 2 way back in June 2021, which means we have known season 3 would be coming for quite a long time.

This third and final season will consist of eight episodes in total, with the first episode set to premiere on August 26, with new episodes airing weekly, every Friday.

Background of the Series

Before we go into Season 3 of See, let’s take a look back and see what the series is all about. The story begins with the eradication of the bulk of humanity from the world, which is attributed to a virus catastrophe in the 21st century. The survivors of this unparalleled attack will lose their vision in the next generations, which are estimated to number in the millions.

The series takes place many centuries later. We get to see a new culture that has figured out how to live and connect without using their sense of sight. Vision or visibility is a made-up tale or myth for the people who live here.

Maghra, a pregnant woman, seeks protection and shelter from the Alkenny tribe in the mountains. Baba Voss, Alkenny’s leader, is unable to bear children, so he gets married Maghra and becomes the father of Maghra’s children.
Jerlamarel, Maghra’s children’s biological father, is said to be born with the ability to see.

Maghra’s sister, the Payan Queen, begins looking for Jerlamarel and his children, as well as the children Maghra is expecting. This is due to Jerlamarel’s children inheriting a previously dormant and recessive trait of vision.

Baba Voss must defend his family and clan from the Queen’s threat. And now the action starts!

‘See’ Season 3 Plot

See is set in a brutal and primitive future, hundreds of years after humankind has lost the ability to see. According to Apple, season three picks up almost a year after Baba Voss (Momoa) defeated his nemesis and brother Edo and said goodbye to his family to live remotely in the forest. Voss is forced to return to Paya in order to save his tribe when a Trivantian scientist develops a new and devastating form of sighted weaponry that threatens the future of humanity.

‘See’ Season 3 Cast

It goes without saying that the leading man, Jason Momoa will return as Baba Voss.

We will, however, see more of the killer Queen Kane, played by Sylvia Hoeks. And also, as the new Queen, Hera Hilmar will reprise her role as Maghra.

The last time we saw Haniwa and Wren, they shared an emotional kiss on the battlefield, before parting ways. We’re sure both Nesta Cooper and Eden Epstein will be back to reprise their respective roles. But will their relationship find a way to survive? Archie Madekwe also joins his role as Haniwa’s brother.

Along with them, the cast includes Christian Camargo, Tom Mison, Olivia Cheng, Michael Raymond-James, David Hewlett, and Trieste Kelly Dunn.

It remains to be seen if any new additions to the cast will be made, in the same vein as adding star power like Bautista for season 2. But we would bet it’s very likely that a big name could arrive in Pennsa.

More Information

“See” is executive produced by Steven Knight, Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Jim Rowe, Jennifer Yale, Anders Engström and Jonathan Tropper, who also serves as showrunner. The series is produced by Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content for Apple.

Although “See” is ending, Momoa will remain in business with Apple. The actor is set to star in and write the drama series “Chief of War” for the streaming service, which follows the story of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.
